Updates x #shagivesback

Hey guys! :-)

Sorry I haven't been updating the blog much (it's not like I have readers but if I do, hello to y'all!) Well I'm finally back with some pictures & some updates about my life!!!!!

Basically, when the competition ended for me, I've been up to my neck trying to catch up with everything that I've missed in school (and I had to take my exams!) I think I missed 8 weeks of school in a 15 week term because of the competition but I must really thank my facilitators who gave me 1-on-1 lessons to help me catch up & understand the module! I must also thank the PC & Directors for accommodating to my crazy schedule & my hairstyle (I dyed the top pink, remember?) 

I also had to nurse my dengue fever (it was a pain, I must say) but it wasn't THAT bad, considering I wasn't hospitalized for more than a day. I was under observation for 2 weeks & I was more lethargic than usual. I didn't eat much (and yes I lost quite a bit of weight) but I'm glad it's all over. All in all, I wish it never happens again!

But well, now that the school term's ended, I'm working to fill up my holidays! I'm taking up small gigs here & there to gain experience & I'm working on doing a cover with my band (I don't know if I should call them my band but we've stuck tgt since secondary school so I supposed I can call them my band) when the guitarist (aka editor aka director aka camera man) comes back from his trip to US! 

Recently, I did my very first gig at Ocean Financial Centre (thanks to Dawn Wong from #hummingbirdconcepts) & I was actually quite nervous since it's the first time I'm doing a half-an-hour set + I didn't know what to expect + I was singing after the extremely talented Rachel Chua (She's more commonly known as Cai Aijia). But with the help of the amazing guitarist, Jee Yon, who met up with me to practise at weird timings, I felt so much more confident that I initially felt. The crowd was pretty awesome & they made me very comfortable!

My Kardashian sister, Kim, or more commonly known as Farisha Ishak (you would know if you followed The Final 1) won the competition & she organized a mini concert x meet-n-greet session for her fans as a thank you! She invited me & Gail (Khloe & Kourtney) to perform 2 songs with her during the event as well :-)  We had so much fun - pigging out at the different food booths & spending most of our time at the photo booth which had props for us to play around with!!!! Most of the Top 11 from The Final 1 will be performing during the President's Star Charity happening on the 20th October 2013 & we hope for your support! More details will be provided soon ;-)

Quick Updates // The Final 1 Episode 10 Social Media Challenge

Hey everyone!

I've been extremely busy these few weeks and thus, the lack of updates! I will try to include short posts every few hours and hopefully it'll be sufficient :-) 

Time flies when you're having fun and I am indeed having fun whilst being on this journey in The Final 1. Who can proudly say they've been through press conferences, radio interviews, photo shoots, live performances, national TV when they're only 17? Maybe to y'all it's nothing much to be proud/ contented about, but to me it's been a crazy experience of a lifetime. 

When I first joined this, I've never expected myself to even come this far. To have the support and the backing of so many people, I feel extremely grateful and thankful. This is a 100% voting competition and whether you make it through or not, it's dependent on whether you have votes. Coming this far, I know it's not possible to be here without your support. There's only this much my family can do, but it's the love and support from family friends, classmates, school mates and everyone who's been casting their votes for me that makes me so heartened to give my best every single week. 

This sounds like a good bye speech and I really wish it wouldn't come so soon. Tomorrow might be the last time I'm performing. I mean you'll never know. Nothing is ever expected y'know.

Photo Diary (1st + 2nd June)

The weekend was super hectic with The Final 1 photo shoot on Saturday and vox + dance rehearsal on Sunday :-)

I think this is the only decent photo I took with my phone. I love the look and the feel of the leather. I felt like a rock star who's gonna go on a crazy ride on the motorcycle without her helmet. I extremely love the look that the stylist came up with and the hair stylist did crazy stuff to my hair 😍😍😍

I love this picture of me and ET because it just looks so classy and everything. His jaw line is just so perfect and I love the red leather jacket I used for the suit omg I am so in love with it. 

I'm so tired from all the rehearsals and I think I'm not going to make sense with the rest of the things I say so I'll have to end the post here. Shall include more pictures + try to do a proper update.

Photo Diary (31 May)

It's already the last day of May. I've been procrastinating a lot with the pictures. Y'know how is it like to want to really do something properly yet you don't have enough time/ strength/ brain juice! When I do smth, I really want to make it as personal and heart felt as possible ☺

In any case, I should have done this way earlier and now it might even be too late to garner votes from people. 

Here's some of the things I've been occupied for the past week (hopefully I can upload them all in the correct order) 

Let's start with a selfie of myself. Learnt this pose from Amanda! ✌ I think we're totally coolz cuz we've got the cute factor when we do this post (okay don't take it too heart. I praise myself all the time!)

This picture concludes the 9 performances I performed for Republic Polytechnic's Graduation Ceremony 2013 alongside with my Interest Group/ CCA, Replug. It really is hard work. I'm just thankful for the chance to be able to perform to different audience and this event really made me challenge myself because I did a song/ genre I felt I wouldn't have done under normal circumstances yet I'm really glad I took it up because I've learnt so much. I researched out different versions and dug deep to listening to songs in Bossa Nova and tried to grasp the feel of it. Thankful to the wonderful sound + stage + lights crew and they made me sound/ feel/ look better (I hope!). Without them, I am not even anything on stage. Thankful to Mr Zaini Tahir, our artistic director of The Republic Cultural Centre (TRCC) for his many comments + guidance. I've truly learnt so much from him and I hope to learn much more! 

Filmed today for my Final 1 profile shoot and boy, I must say it's not easy to have the right words to put for the things you really wanna say. 

Thank you to RP, TRCC and Replug for helping me out with this as well as supporting me throughout my whole Final 1 journey ☺

Shout out to Chung, Zaim, Shafiq as Danial from Replug for specially coming down to help me with the filming whilst thank you to Li Wern for helping me co-ordinate things with Mediacorp! :-) 

Thankful and feeling super blessed with all the support + love I've been receiving over the past few months since Feb!

Hi everyone! :-)

I've started a new blog basically to jot down all my different music/ performing arts experience partly for portfolio and for my own archive. Wouldn't it be good to look back at what you've done before and smile after years go by?

I'm Faith :-) I'm currently 17, going on 18. I'm doing my Diploma in Integrated Events Management in Republic Polytechnic. I'm a member in Replug IG + Campus Arts Production (CAP) under the Republic Cultural Centre. I'm also currently in the Top 40 of The Final 1, the latest reality singing competition on Mediacorp Channel 5.

Over the few days, I will be uploading new pictures! Hope y'all stay tuned to that. Also, I've listed some links of mine (in the above tabs) you might want to check out in the mean time!

Can't wait to fill this place up with different memories + keep sakes!
